  • •The county auditor must send a written report to the board every year.
  • •The report must show the total value of all property in the district.
  • •The report must be based on the property assessments that have been equalized.
  • •The report must be sent by the third Monday in August.

Example

Imagine your town has many houses, shops, and lands. Every year, the town needs to know how much all these properties are worth in total.

The county auditor is like the town's accountant. They have to add up the value of all the properties in the town, using the latest and fairest values they have. Then, they must send this total value in a report to the town's board by a specific date in August.
