§ 3325 Energy Authority Board Composition

Key Takeaways

  • •The board has 5 people: 4 picked by the Governor (with Senate approval) and the State Treasurer.
  • •The 4 picked members start with different term lengths (1, 2, 3, or 4 years), but after that, all terms are 4 years.
  • •At least 3 members must be present to make decisions, and 3 must agree for anything to pass.
  • •Only the chairperson gets paid full-time; others get $100 per day for meetings and expense reimbursements.

Example

If the Governor picks 4 people for the board, and one of them is chosen first, they will serve for 4 years before needing to be reappointed.

The law says the first person picked serves 4 years, the second serves 3 years, and so on. After that, everyone serves 4 years.
