§ 33016 District Formation Challenge Deadline

• •If you want to challenge the creation of a special district or zone, or the bonds issued for it, you have to do it within six months.
• •After six months, you can't question or fight the creation of the district, the bonds, or any related actions—they become final and unchangeable.
• •This rule doesn’t apply to petitions for elections (those follow a different rule).

A new neighborhood gets a special tax zone to pay for better streets. Some people don’t like it and want to stop it.

If those people don’t file a complaint within six months of the zone being created, they lose their chance. After that time, the zone and its taxes are locked in and can’t be challenged.
