§ 30334 District Manager Powers

Key Takeaways

  • •The general manager is in charge of everything the district owns, like buildings and land. They decide what to buy, build, fix, rent out, or sell.
  • •The manager runs the day-to-day business of the district, like making sure rules are followed and handling money stuff.
  • •The manager hires, fires, or disciplines workers (except for a few top bosses picked by the board) and makes sure work rules and contracts are followed.
  • •The manager must tell the board how the district is doing with money and what the district needs, and they have to work full-time for the district.

Example

If the district owns a park and the playground equipment is broken, the general manager decides whether to fix it or buy new stuff. They also hire the workers to do the job and make sure the park rules are followed.

The manager is like the boss of the park. They handle the money, the workers, and the rules to keep the park running smoothly.
