§ 11939 District Attorney Duties

Key Takeaways

  • •The lawyer handles all legal stuff for the district, like lawsuits or contracts.
  • •The lawyer must give written advice when the board asks for it.
  • •The lawyer helps the manager and other leaders with legal papers and decisions.
  • •The lawyer does extra jobs if the board tells them to.

Example

The district wants to build a new park and needs to sign a contract with a construction company.

The lawyer must check the contract, make sure it’s fair and legal, and approve it before the district signs it. If the board has questions, the lawyer writes down their advice to help them decide.
