§ 29704 Special District Bond Taxation

Key Takeaways

  • •Only properties in a special service district can be taxed to pay for the district's bonds.
  • •These taxes will be collected until the bonds are fully paid off.
  • •The way these taxes are collected must follow the rules in Chapter 7 and Section 29183.

Example

Imagine a neighborhood decides to build a new park, and they issue bonds to pay for it.

Only the houses in that neighborhood will have to pay extra taxes to cover the cost of the park. These taxes will stop once the park is fully paid for, and the way they collect the taxes must follow specific rules.
