§ 29703 Special District Bond Voting

• •Only people who live in the special service district and are registered to vote can vote on whether to allow the district to borrow money by issuing bonds.
• •For the district to be allowed to borrow money, at least three-fifths (or 60%) of the voters who vote on the issue must say 'yes'.
• •This vote happens during a special election just for this issue.

Imagine your neighborhood wants to build a new park, but it needs to borrow money to do it. The neighborhood is a special service district.

Only the people who live in your neighborhood and are registered to vote can vote on whether to borrow the money. If 100 people vote, at least 60 of them need to say 'yes' for the neighborhood to be allowed to borrow the money and build the park.
