§ 29664 Petition Signature Verification

Key Takeaways

  • •The person in charge checks if the signatures on a petition match the ones on file.
  • •They tell the board if the petition has enough valid signatures or not.
  • •This is to make sure the petition is real and follows the rules.

Example

A group of neighbors wants to add a new playground in their area. They collect signatures from other neighbors to show support.

The person in charge will check if the signatures on the petition are the same as the ones the county has on record. If enough signatures match, they tell the board the petition is good to go. If not, the petition might not be accepted.
