§ 27405 Petition Signature Verification

Key Takeaways

  • •The person in charge checks if the signatures on a petition match the ones on file.
  • •They tell the board if there are enough valid signatures or not.
  • •This is to make sure the petition is real and follows the rules.

Example

A group of neighbors wants to add a new playground in their area. They collect signatures from other neighbors to support their idea and give the list to the local government.

The local government worker checks if the signatures on the list match the official records. If enough signatures are real, they tell the board the list is good. If not, they say it’s not enough.
