  • •If most voters say yes to adding new land to a district, the board must make it official.
  • •The board writes a paper saying the land is now part of the district.
  • •They send this paper to the Secretary of State to make it final.
  • •Once the paper is filed, the new land is officially part of the district.

Example

If most people in the town vote yes, the school board writes a paper saying the town is now part of the district. They send this paper to the Secretary of State, and once it’s filed, the town is officially part of the school district.
