§ 26203 Bond Issuance By Petition

Key Takeaways

  • •People in the area can ask for money (bonds) to be used for special projects.
  • •They don’t always need the leaders to agree first—just a group of voters can start the process.
  • •This is for things like building schools, fixing roads, or other big projects.

Example

A town needs a new park, but the leaders haven’t decided yet.

If enough people in the town sign a paper asking for money to build the park, the process can start—even if the leaders didn’t say yes first.
