§ 22442 District Fund Depositories

Key Takeaways

  • •The board picks safe places (like banks) to keep the district's money.
  • •These places must promise to protect the money so it doesn’t get lost or stolen.
  • •The board sets rules for how and when the money can be taken out.

Example

Imagine your school has a piggy bank where it keeps all its lunch money.

The school board picks a strong, safe bank to hold the money. The bank has to promise to keep it safe and follow the school’s rules for when to give out the money, like paying for food supplies.
