§ 12844 Federal Funding For Districts

Key Takeaways

  • •Local areas can take money or loans from the U.S. government to build or run things they're allowed to do.
  • •They can work with the U.S. government on these projects, even if Congress makes new rules later.
  • •They can do whatever is needed to get this help from the government.
  • •Any papers showing they owe money for this are like official IOUs.

Example

A small town wants to build a new park but doesn't have enough money.

The town can ask the U.S. government for a loan to build the park. They can also work with the government to plan and build it. If the government has a program to help towns build parks, the town can use that help.
