§ 105308 Service Zone Fiscal Powers

This law lets a service zone use any money‑related powers (like taxes or fees) that the larger district can use, as long as the board approves and the rules are followed.

Key Takeaways

  • •The board must approve any fiscal actions in the service zone.
  • •The service zone can only use powers that the larger district already has.
  • •All actions must follow the specific requirements set out in the governing part.

Example

A city district is allowed to charge a water usage fee. The service zone inside that district can also charge the same water fee to its residents.

Because the district can levy the fee, the service zone is allowed to do the same, provided the board says it’s okay and the rule requirements are met.
