§ 105098 Rail Transit Contract Authority

This law lets the board make deals with any government agency or private person to set up and run rail transit for the district, unless another rule says otherwise.

Key Takeaways

  • •The board can sign contracts with public agencies or private people for rail transit.
  • •These contracts can cover building the rail system and running the service.
  • •The rule only changes if another specific law (Section 105143) says something different.

Example

The city’s transit agency agrees with a private company to build a new light‑rail line that runs through the district.

Because the board can contract with the agency or company, they can sign a contract to have the rail line built and operated for the district’s benefit.
