§ 54 Director'S Departmental Authority

Key Takeaways

  • •The director is in charge of all the jobs and powers given to the department.
  • •The director must do everything the law says the department should do.
  • •If another law says someone else should do a job, then the director doesn’t do that job.

Example

If the law says the department must check that restaurants are clean, the director makes sure this happens.

The director is responsible for making sure the department does its job, like checking restaurants, unless another law says someone else should do it.
