§ 8559 Cemetery Dedication Validity

Key Takeaways

  • •Land set aside for cemeteries won't break rules about owning or using property forever.
  • •It's okay to keep cemetery land as a cemetery—no one can say it's illegal just because it's always a cemetery.
  • •This rule is meant to respect the dead and give everyone a place to bury people.

Example

A town wants to make sure a piece of land is always used as a cemetery, even 100 years from now.

The law says it's fine to do this. The land can stay a cemetery forever, and no one can say it's wrong just because it never changes.
