§ 80780 State Procurement Compliance

Key Takeaways

  • •The government must follow specific rules when buying services from others.
  • •These rules are the same as the ones used for other big purchases the state makes.
  • •This law started in 2023 but didn’t take full effect until 2024.

Example

The state wants to hire a company to clean all the government buildings.

They can’t just pick any company—they have to follow the same strict rules they use when buying things like office supplies or computers. This means getting bids, comparing prices, and making sure everything is fair.
