§ 80545 State Loan Liability Exemption

Key Takeaways

  • •The government can't be sued just because they took someone's property after a loan wasn't paid back.
  • •Special rules about cleaning up pollution don't apply to the government for these loans.

Example

If you don't pay back a loan for your house, the bank can take your house. The government does the same thing with some loans, and this law says you can't sue them for doing it.

If the government takes your property because you didn't pay your loan, they are protected from lawsuits. Also, if the property has pollution, the government doesn't have to follow the usual cleanup rules.
