§ 79900 Site Subdivision For Remediation

Key Takeaways

  • •This law lets big pieces of land be split into smaller pieces.
  • •The reason for splitting the land is to clean up bad stuff (like pollution) or to get money to clean it up.
  • •The split can also help get money to build things that will pay for the cleanup.

Example

Imagine an old factory that polluted the ground. The owner wants to clean it up but needs money.

The owner can split the land into smaller parts. They can sell some parts to get money for cleaning up the pollution. Or they can build something (like shops) on part of the land to make money for the cleanup.
