§ 50703 Park Grant Bonus Funds

Key Takeaways

  • •Extra money (bonus funds) can be given to places that apply for park or housing grants if they meet certain rules.
  • •Big bonuses go to places that help poor communities by fixing up parks or building new ones.
  • •More bonuses are given for building cheap homes, building in cities (not spreading out), or building lots of new homes.
  • •The exact bonus amount is decided when the money is announced, not set in stone.

Example

A small town wants to fix up an old park in a poor neighborhood.

If the town shows that the park is in a poor area and will help those people, they can get extra money on top of their normal grant to make the park nicer.
