§ 78775 Hazardous Site Compliance Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •If a place is on the official list of dangerous chemical spots, special rules apply.
  • •Any cleanup or fixes at these spots must follow the rules in this law.
  • •The rules include how to clean up and what safety steps to take.

Example

A factory spilled toxic chemicals into the ground, and the area was added to the state’s list of hazardous sites.

The factory must clean up the spill exactly how the law says—no shortcuts. They can’t just dump dirt on it; they have to follow the safety steps and report everything.
