§ 50831 Tribal Housing Grant Funds

• •These cities and counties can apply for the money to help certain Indian tribes.
• •The tribes must not be recognized by a specific federal law.
• •The money must be used for the same things listed in another law (Section 50828).

A small Indian tribe in California isn't officially recognized by the federal government. They need money to fix up their community center.

The tribe can ask their local city or county to apply for a grant from the state. If approved, the money must be used for things like housing or community projects, just like other tribes get.
