§ 50079 Local Housing Entities Defined

Key Takeaways

  • •This law defines who counts as a 'local public entity' in California.
  • •It includes cities, counties, and special groups like housing authorities or tribal organizations.
  • •These groups must help with housing for people who don’t make a lot of money.
  • •Even if two or more of these groups work together, they still count as a 'local public entity'.

Example

A city and a housing authority team up to build affordable apartments.

Because both the city and the housing authority are on the list in this law, they can work together and still follow the rules for helping people with low or moderate incomes.
