§ 43642 Pollution Device Cost Limits

Key Takeaways

  • •If a car part that controls pollution costs more than the law allows, the state can take away its approval.
  • •The state sets a maximum price for these parts, and if a company charges more, they can get in trouble.
  • •This rule is about keeping pollution control parts affordable for everyone.

Example

A company sells a special car part that reduces smoke from cars, but they charge $500 for it.

If the state says the part can only cost $300, the company’s approval to sell it can be taken away because they’re charging too much.
