§ 43635 Pollution Device Certification Conditions

Key Takeaways

  • •If a company makes a special car part to stop pollution, they have to follow rules to keep things fair.
  • •If only one company makes this part, they can’t charge too much money for it.
  • •The government checks the price and makes sure other companies can make the part too, so people have choices.

Example

Imagine only one company makes a special filter that stops cars from polluting the air. Without this law, they could charge $1,000 for it, and everyone would have to pay that price.

This law says the government will check the price and make sure it’s fair. If the company tries to charge too much, the government can say, 'No, you can only charge $200.' They also make sure other companies can make the same filter, so people have more options and better prices.
