§ 43211 Vehicle Emission Penalty Standards

Key Takeaways

  • •If a car company doesn't meet the rules for selling electric cars (zero-emission vehicles), they can be fined up to $5,000 for each electric car credit they're missing.
  • •The fines can go up over time because of inflation, which means the cost of things getting more expensive.
  • •Any money from these fines goes into California's General Fund, which is like the state's savings account.
