§ 34111 Community Redevelopment Agencies

• •Every town has two special groups: one for fixing up old or run-down areas (redevelopment agency) and one for helping with housing (housing authority).

Imagine your town has a neighborhood with old, broken-down buildings. The town wants to fix it up and build new homes for people who need affordable places to live.

The redevelopment agency would work on fixing up the old buildings and making the area nicer. The housing authority would help build or manage the new homes for families. Both groups work separately but in the same town to make things better.
