§ 33656 Property Use And Maintenance

Key Takeaways

  • •A government group can make promises about how they will use their stuff (like buildings or equipment).
  • •They can also promise to take care of their stuff, fix it if it breaks, and have insurance for it.
  • •If something happens and they get insurance money, they can decide how to use that money.

Example

A city owns a park with playground equipment.

The city can promise to only use the park for public fun, keep the swings and slides in good shape, and have insurance in case a kid gets hurt. If a storm breaks a slide and the insurance pays money, the city can use that money to fix the slide.
