§ 33050 Redevelopment Anti-Discrimination Policy

Key Takeaways

  • •No one can be treated unfairly in community redevelopment projects because of things like race, religion, or disability.
  • •This rule doesn’t apply to housing made just for older people—those places can still have age rules.
  • •Other laws about senior housing and fair treatment still apply.

Example

A city is rebuilding a neighborhood and won’t let a family with kids move into a new apartment just because they have children.

This is not allowed because the law says you can’t discriminate against families with kids in redevelopment projects, unless it’s housing meant only for older people.
