  • •The district can change its name if at least two-thirds of the board agrees, but the new name must include words like 'mosquito control' or 'vector management'.
  • •If they change the name, they have to tell the state and local governments within 10 days.
  • •The district can throw away old records if they follow the rules for getting rid of government papers.

Example

A town's mosquito control group wants to update its name to sound more modern.

If the group's board votes and at least two-thirds agree, they can pick a new name like 'Sunnyville Vector Management District'. Then, they have to send the new name to the state and local offices within 10 days so everyone knows.
