§ 13055 Fire Hazard Abatement

Key Takeaways

  • •Fire departments and other groups can use fire to stop big fires from happening.
  • •This includes city, county, and forest fire teams.
  • •They do this to get rid of things that could make a fire worse.

Example

A forest has lots of dry grass and bushes that could catch fire easily.

The fire department might start a small, controlled fire to burn the dry stuff safely. This helps prevent a huge, dangerous wildfire later.
