§ 130521 Program Outreach And Donations

Key Takeaways

  • •The government can tell people about a special program to help them.
  • •They work with other groups, like aging or job departments, to spread the word.
  • •They can accept free help or stuff to tell people about the program, but no ads for drugs are allowed.
  • •If a company helps, their name can't be on the ads, but the government can tell everyone who helped.

Example

A local food bank wants to help tell people about a new government program that gives free meals to seniors.

The food bank can give out flyers or posters about the program, but they can't put their own name or logos on them. The government can say thank you to the food bank later, but the flyers must only talk about the program.
