§ 128051 Healthcare Workforce Data Collection

Key Takeaways

  • •The government keeps track of how many healthcare workers there are, like doctors and nurses, and what kinds of jobs they do.
  • •They also look at where these workers are located in the state to see if some areas have enough or not enough.
  • •They collect information about the different backgrounds of healthcare workers, like their race, ethnicity, and the languages they speak.
  • •They try to predict how many more healthcare workers will be needed in the future and check if schools are training enough people to meet that need.

Example

If a small town has only one doctor and many people need care, the government will notice this and try to figure out how to get more doctors there.

The law helps the government see where healthcare workers are missing and plan for more training or hiring in those areas.
