§ 12620 Additional Reporting Authority

Key Takeaways

  • •The State Fire Marshal can ask for extra reports from people or businesses with licenses or permits.
  • •These extra reports must help the Fire Marshal do their job better.
  • •The Fire Marshal can decide what the reports should look like and what info they need.
  • •The reports must be checked to make sure the info is correct.

Example

A restaurant has a permit to serve food. The Fire Marshal asks them to send a monthly report about their fire safety checks.

The restaurant must fill out the report honestly and send it every month. If they lie or skip the report, they could get in trouble.
