§ 1251 Health Facility Licensing

Key Takeaways

  • •A license is needed to run a health facility (like a hospital or nursing home).
  • •The license says how many beds the place can have and what kind they are.
  • •You can't give or sell your license to someone else—it stays with the original owner.

Example

A small hospital wants to sell its building to a new owner.

The new owner can't just take over the old license—they need to get their own new one, even if nothing else changes.
