§ 111795 Cosmetic Manufacturer Registration

Key Takeaways

  • •If you make makeup or beauty products in California, you can sign up with the state.
  • •Your sign-up lasts for one year, then you have to do it again.
  • •You can't give your sign-up to someone else—it's only for you.
  • •If you make products in more than one place, each place needs its own sign-up.

Example

You start a small business making lip balm in your kitchen and later open a second location in a workshop.

You need to sign up with the state for your kitchen, and then sign up again separately for the workshop. Each sign-up lasts one year and can't be shared or given to someone else.
