§ 101405 County Health Officer Authority

This law says that once a contract is signed, the county health officer and their helpers get the same authority in the city that city health officers normally have.

Key Takeaways

  • •The rule only kicks in after a contract is properly signed.
  • •County health officers and their deputies get the same powers as city health officers inside the city.
  • •The powers include things like inspections, issuing health orders, and enforcing health laws.

Example

A company signs a contract to open a new fast‑food restaurant in the city.

Because the contract is in place, the county health officer and their deputies can inspect the kitchen, enforce health rules, and do anything a city health officer could do, even though they work for the county.
