§ 101260 Local Health Department Funding

• •State money is only given to health departments that meet minimum standards.
• •Standards cover both the staff's qualifications and how the department is organized and run.
• •If a department falls short, it gets no funding for the purposes of this article.

A small town's health department doesn't have enough certified nurses or a solid plan for disease control.

Because the department doesn't meet the required staff and program standards, the state will not give it any funding under this law.
