§ 6310 District General Powers

This law says the district can do any actions it needs to reach its goals, even if those actions aren’t listed specifically in the law.

Key Takeaways

  • •The district has broad power to act.
  • •It can do things not specifically named in the law.
  • •All actions must be for carrying out the part’s purposes.

Example

A city district wants to start a new recycling program, but the law only mentions building roads.

Because of this law, the district can start the recycling program since it helps the district’s overall purpose, even though recycling isn’t spelled out in the list of powers.
