§ 9763 Statute Preparation Direction

• •The Department of General Services has to organize and prepare the laws passed in each regular meeting of the Legislature.
• •If there’s a special meeting, those laws are usually added to the next regular meeting’s laws.
• •If the Legislative Budget Committee asks in writing, the department will prepare the laws from a special meeting right after it happens.

Imagine the Legislature has a regular meeting in January and a special meeting in March.

Normally, the laws from the March special meeting would be added to the next regular meeting’s laws. But if the Legislative Budget Committee sends a written request, the department will prepare the March laws right away instead of waiting.
