§ 9111 Legislative Conference Participation

Key Takeaways

  • •Some California lawmakers can go to meetings with leaders from other states to talk about laws.
  • •Only certain leaders are allowed to go, like the top bosses of the Senate and Assembly.
  • •California can help pay for these meetings if there's money set aside for it.

Example

Imagine your school's principal and a few teachers go to a big meeting with principals and teachers from other schools to talk about school rules.

This law lets some of California's top lawmakers do something similar—they can go to meetings with leaders from other states to talk about laws and share ideas. California can also help pay for these meetings if they have the money.
