§ 9052 Fraudulent Legislative Document Alteration

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't secretly change a law or bill to trick people into passing it.
  • •If you do this on purpose, it's a serious crime.
  • •This applies to any official papers in the government.

Example

Someone sneaks into the government office and changes a few words in a new law about schools to make it say something different than what the politicians agreed on.

This is illegal because they tried to trick everyone into passing a law that wasn’t what they actually voted for.
