§ 8160 Capitol Area Development Plan

• •There's a special plan called the 'Capitol Area Plan' that decides where state buildings and projects go in downtown Sacramento.
• •This plan was approved in 1977 and is the official guide for where the state can build or expand things.
• •If anyone wants to change the big goals of this plan, both groups in the Legislature (like the Senate and Assembly) have to agree by voting yes.

The state wants to build a new office building for workers in Sacramento.

They have to follow the Capitol Area Plan to pick where to build it. If they want to build it somewhere not in the plan, they’d have to get both the Senate and Assembly to vote and agree to change the plan first.
