§ 59214 District Boundary Consolidation

Key Takeaways

  • •If two or more nearby areas (districts) want to combine, the new area must include all the land from the original areas.
  • •The new combined area will use the same property rules for taxes as the original areas did.
  • •This is about making sure everyone in the old areas is included in the new one.

Example

Imagine two small towns next to each other, Town A and Town B, decide to become one big town called Town C.

Town C must include all the land from Town A and Town B. If Town A and Town B had certain rules about how much people pay in taxes for their houses, Town C will keep those same rules for everyone.
