§ 56814 City Disincorporation Tax Revenue

Key Takeaways

  • •If a city is being shut down and its property tax money is given to another group, the commission has to decide some things.
  • •They need to figure out if the group getting the money can spend more money than before.
  • •If a new special group is created to get the money, the commission sets how much they can spend.

Example

A small town votes to shut down and give its property tax money to the county.

The commission has to decide if the county can spend more money because they're getting extra from the town. If a new group is made to handle the money, the commission sets their spending limit.
