§ 55331 Local Agency Cost Sharing

Key Takeaways

  • •Local governments can agree to pay part of the cost to build and maintain pipes or wires.
  • •They can decide when and how much to pay over time.
  • •This helps share the cost of big projects like water pipes or power lines.

Example

A city needs new water pipes, but it's too expensive for them alone.

The city can team up with nearby towns to share the cost. They agree to pay a little each year instead of all at once.
