§ 55082 Joint Sewer Cost Agreement

Key Takeaways

  • •If different towns or cities share sewer pipes, they must agree on how to split the costs.
  • •The agreement must cover how much each place pays for building, using, and fixing the shared pipes.
  • •The local governments (like city councils) must approve the rules for sharing these costs.

Example

Two neighboring towns share the same big sewer pipe to carry away waste.

Both towns must make a deal on how to split the bill for building, using, and fixing the pipe. Their city councils have to say yes to the rules before it’s official.
