§ 3535 Excluded Employee Relations Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •The Department of Human Resources can make rules for how bosses and workers (especially supervisors) interact at work.
  • •These rules can check if a worker group really speaks for the workers and who the leaders of that group are.
  • •The rules can say how and where worker group leaders can talk to workers, like using bulletin boards or visiting workplaces.
  • •The rules can also say what work information can be shared with worker groups, as long as it’s not secret stuff.

Example

A group of teachers wants to talk to the school principal about better working conditions.

The Department of Human Resources can make rules to check if this group really represents the teachers. They can also decide if the group’s leaders can put up notices on the school bulletin board or meet with teachers during lunch breaks.
