§ 29830 County Warrant Registration Alternative

Key Takeaways

  • •Counties can choose a different way to register their warrants (like official money promises) if they want.
  • •The county leaders (board of supervisors) must agree and pass a rule to use this different way.
  • •This rule was added in 1992 and started on September 30, 1992.

Example

Imagine your town usually writes down IOUs (promises to pay) in a big red book, but they find a better way to track them on a computer.

The town leaders can vote to switch to the computer way instead of the red book if they all agree.
